Brioche can seem intimidating with its unusual stitches and terminology.  But don’t worry – we’ve got you covered, one cozy stitch at a time.  In our beginner-friendly class, we’ll demystify the stitches and techniques that create plush, stretchy, and beautifully textured fabric.  You’ll learn the basics of brioche stitches (yes, it’s way less scary than it looks!), how to knit them with 1 or 2 colors, and how to mix things up with syncopated brioche, all at a relaxed, supportive pace.

Whether you're a confident knitter ready to expand your toolkit or just brioche-curious, you'll leave with the skills (and confidence!) to finish your first brioche project – a brioche sampler scarf.  Come prepared to squish and smile.

What We’ll Cover: The brioche stitches (Sl1YO, BrK, BrP), getting set up, brioche worked flat, both in a single color and in two colors, and syncopated brioche

Prerequisite Techniques: How to knit and purl flat, work 1x1 ribbing, and a long-tail cast on

Class Materials: 2 contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn, at least 100g/200 yds of each, circular needles appropriate for the yarn, and a progress keeper or removable stitch marker

Homework for Class: Come prepared to knit, with yarn balled up (if necessary) and needles ready
